DGC Meeting & Event CALENDAR 2021-2022
Due to COVID-19 our regular monthly meetings in our prior year (2020-2021) were cancelled until April 2021. We are now meeting again in person. Our  meetings will be held at the Cambridge Yacht Club (CYC) unless noted otherwise.

Due to COVID19 restrictions in the state of Maryland, our first two meetings were held outdoors.

Friday, June 4th, 2021 was our Annual Picnic (June 11th, our regular meeting date is the week of Eagle Man and traffic here will be unpredictable with road closures, etc.). Helen and Jack Saum graciously volunteered to host at their residence.--see two photos below

June 5-13 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show "Habitat, Nature's Masterpiece" Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park, Philadelphia, PA

Monday, June 7th Trip to ‘Smokey Cat’ Lavender Farm, 5090 Long Swamp Road, Federalsburg, MD. We carpooled and met  in the parking lot at the old ‘SAV-A-LOT, Grocery store between Cedar St and Crusader St off of Route 50. Meet at 11.45 am. Leaving at promptly at 12 Noon. We packed our own  Brown Bag Lunch and the club supplied drinks.

June 8th  Celebrate National Garden Week with a Garden Tour at the Cylburn Arboretum 

June 11th FGCMD Virtual Book Club Meeting at 1:00 PM via Zoom. Selection: "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbach Contact Carolynyb28@gmail.com 11 District II Executive Board Meeting 

Friday, July 9th, 2021  – Our first in person meeting for 2021-2022 at the Dorchester Yacht Club (DYC).

"Microgreens in the Kitchen," presented by 
     Assistant District Director and 
    Oxford GC member, Terry Holman.

Wednesday, September 15, 2021 : "Books in Bloom," a Small Standard Flower Show presented by the Green-walled Garden Club (District V) to be held at the Holly Hills Country Club in Jamsville, MD.

October 2021 Events and Programs:
Wednesday, October 6, 2021: District 1 Semi-Annual Meeting. Hosted by DGC. Details to follow. Will either be in-person (with masks, social distancing and proof o vaccination) . This is a ZOOM virtual meeting (invitations sent to members only). 

Saturday, October 9, 2021: Garden Tours of Local Private Gardens (for DGC Members only). Take a walking tour of members' and friends' gardens in Cambridge from 10 am to 2 pm. Tour is free, but open to members only. 
However, we are accepting DONATIONS for the DGC Scholarship Fund.

District I will be hosting a Standard Flower Show on September 23-24, 2022 at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills. The show will likely have a fall harvest theme, but an 'official title' has yet to be announced.
